The Crew

Nick & Tim were high school teammates & buddies. After 13 years of living away from home, they wanted to start a business that involved their background in media, art, and photography. True Shot Studios is now that business.

Nick

Lead Cinematographer/Director

Photography, cinema, and art have all been a passion of mine since I was a kid. I had a wonderful opportunity to travel the world, experience new cultures and take some amazing pictures for five years. While that experience was life-changing, I now get the opportunity to pursue my life’s passion rather than working for the man!

  • *My wife Nicole & my daughter Stella are my everything
  • *Climbing Mt. Fuji is one of the coolest things I’ve accompolished
  • *Hot & spicy things are not my friends
  • *Craft beer & a ballgame definitely is

Tim

Lead Cinematographer/Editor

I have a degree from Illinois State University that involves extensive video and editing training. I have also been a singer/songwriter for the better part of 20 years. To me, editing and filmmaking have always been like writing a song. At True Shot Studios, we strive to not just find your story but to search for a compelling way to tell it.

  • *I don’t like chihuahuas, but my girlfriend has one so now I like chihuahuas
  • *Chicago sports trump anything on TV
  • *I have seen Umphrey’s McGee 29 times
  • *My perfect day involves a sailboat and a cigar

Josh

Cinematographer/Designer

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Film & Video from Columbia College Chicago. I have been telling stories with a viedo camera since middle school and to this day, I still truly believe nothing is as epic as a story being told on-screen. Now I get the honor to film magic happening to magnficent people at the most epic of times.

  • *Somehow I have never had an Italian beef at Portillo’s
  • *I once served George Clooney popcorn
  • *In college, I was a bassist for an Alanis Morissette cover band called “The Jagged Little Pills”.
  • *I Convinced my basement was haunted where I was growing up
